INAUGURATION OF COLLEGE COUNCIL
The Berekum College of Education (BECOLED) marked a significant milestone in its institutional history with the formal Inauguration of the Berekum College of Education Council. The ceremony, a crucial step in formalizing the college's governance structure for the new academic cycle, took place at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) Auditorium in Accra, Ghana, commencing promptly at 10:00 AM.
The inauguration brings together a diverse and highly distinguished group of individuals drawn from academia, industry, traditional leadership, and the alumni community. The newly constituted Council with Prof. Kusi Hinneh as the council chairman is mandated to provide strategic oversight, ensure financial stability, and uphold the academic standards and vision of BECOLED as it continues its mission to train globally competitive teachers.
High Expectations for the New Council
The event was graced by high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and other stakeholders in Ghana's education sector. The presence of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission at the event underscored the national importance of the College's role in manpower development. The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, administered the Oath of Office, officially inducting the Council members and charging them to execute their duties with diligence, transparency, and patriotism.
The Berekum College of Education looks forward to a brighter future under the guidance of its new Governing Council. The College is confident that this new chapter will propel it to greater heights in teacher training.
